I just had my first look at my cousins new home and it is quite interesting, though it is not finished yet, it already is saying something. The floors are not yet tiled but she told me that she will be using some ceramic tile for it. I know she uses some fine and interesting plus brilliant ideas that is why her friends and even our relatives call for he to help them decorate.

I also would like to have her as an interior design if in the future I will be having my own house. She knows what she is doing and she does not repeat a design for each house that she makes. It is always new and pleasant to look at.

Approaching Summer

Summer is almost approaching and I am totally ready for it. It was last weekend that I asked my mother that we should be prepare for the summer as early as now. The old patio furniture sets was totally crushed last year after the big storm so that was the first thing we’ve changed.

It was really fun doing the things that I like to do most. Shopping makes me feel wonderful and great inside. I feel that I am on top of the world when I do it especially with the people closest to me like my mom or my sisters. We also prepared some inflatable poolsfor the kids to play and swim along ; in time for summer party reunions.

My friend, the cancer survivor

The first time that I learned that my friend has mesothelioma, I actually thought it was some eye defect. It was like that from the way she told me, so I took it lightly, until I thought I’d Google it out of curiosity. Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that has something to do with the abnormality of cells.

I was so devastated when I suddenly realized that the whole situation called for an immediate action as well. I hated myself for taking notice of the fact immediately. But then, my friend, being the funny person that she is, shoved me playfully, telling me that it’ll all be alright.

Even though we knew she was fighting cancer, she was still showing us that she was happy and all. That’s why I idolize my friend, strong-willed ‘til after the battle.

First day Shivers

It was funny when I first came here to the city.. I grew up in the province, studying there ‘til I graduated from high school. I never got used to having steel buildings rising up here and there and having concrete roads built around me, so I was awed when I first came here. I liked going out that time, seeing all the new things, exploring my new environment. After all, I knew I was going to see it for four years or even more since I will be studying here.

I was also confused during those first days, because I wasn’t used to the traffic and all. But that was then. Now, I’m in my fourth year college, and I’m so happy of the everyday happenings here, there’s always something new.

Its all on the brooch

Last Saturday, I went to one of the most important nights of my life – my boyfriend of five years will be introducing me to his family. I prepared for it for quite a while, going to the mall a week before to look for that perfect black dress that I’ll be wearing on that crucial dinner date. I have already picked out the best shoes that would go well with the dress.

That afternoon, as I was preparing for the nerve-wracking evening coming, I was feeling a bit problematic.. I felt that my outfit needed something to boost it up more. Just as I was about to give up, I found an old gift from my mother, a brooch with loose diamonds in the middle. I thought it fit my dress perfectly! The dinner came. I felt great when they complemented me for how I looked, especially my brooch. I immediately felt comfortable with his family and now, I’m looking forward to our next dinner.

Hoping for the Best

Recession is definitely making itself felt in our country. I used to work as a technician for a telecommunications company, which eventually closed down due to a major financial breakdown. I’ve been trying to look for a job suitable for me in the ads in the papers but all I’ve ever read was for those leading administrative careers.

I wasn’t one to apply for those kind of jobs since I wasn’t even good with words in the first place. Then, just like what I’ve been hoping for, a job opening for computer and electric technicians has opened at a factory of a famous plastic manufacturer. In these times of recession, I guess you could just hope for the best to happen.
